Arrive in Mumbai and transfer to the iconic Taj Mahal Palace overlooking the Gateway of India and the Arabian Sea. Relax after your journey and enjoy a welcome dinner this evening.

MUMBAI

Discover Mumbai’s rich history and vibrant daily life, from the Gateway of India and historic colonial architecture to Dhobi Ghat and the bustling local train system. After lunch, explore the colorful Spice Market and Kala Ghoda arts district before dinner.

DAY 3
MUMBAI

Visit the UNESCO-listed Elephanta Caves, home to remarkable rock-cut temples and monumental carvings dedicated to Lord Shiva. Return to Mumbai for a leisurely afternoon and dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 4
MUMBAI / BHUJ / DHOLAVIRA

Fly to Bhuj and continue to Dholavira, located amid the dramatic landscapes of the Rann of Kutch. Visit the museum and fossil park before learning about the ancient Harappan civilization with a local expert.

DAY 5
DHOLAVIRA / BHUJ

Travel through the spectacular Rann of Kutch, visiting traditional villages, meeting local artisans, and sharing lunch with a local family. Explore the White Rann by camel and discover crafts including Rogan art, bell making, and lacquer work.

DAY 6
BHUJ

Spend the day exploring Kutch’s renowned artisan communities, including Bandhani tie-dye and Ajrakh block printing traditions. Visit the Living and Learning Design Centre and, if time permits, browse the markets of Bhuj.

DAY 7
BHUJ / MULI

Drive through rural Gujarat to Muli, passing salt flats, villages, and open countryside. This afternoon, visit a nearby village to learn about local architecture and rural life.

DAY 8
MULI

Meet artisans practicing Tangaliya weaving and other traditional textile arts unique to the region. Visits also include the Swaminarayan Temple and encounters with the colorful Bharwad pastoral community.

DAY 9
MULI / DARED

Continue to Dared and settle into a restored heritage residence reflecting Gujarat’s royal past. This evening, enjoy an authentic introduction to village life through interactions with local residents.

DAY 10
DARED

Spend the day exploring Dared’s artisan traditions, meeting blacksmiths, bead makers, and diamond polishers. Visit local temples and experience the rhythms of daily life in rural Gujarat.

DAY 11
DARED / CHAMPANER

Drive to Champaner and explore the UNESCO-listed Champaner–Pavagadh Archaeological Park, one of India’s most remarkable medieval sites. Later, visit a Rathwa tribal household to learn about traditional Pithora painting.

DAY 12
CHAMPANER / AHMEDABAD

Arrive in Ahmedabad and visit highlights including the Hutheesing Jain Temple, Dada Harir Stepwell, and Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram. This evening, explore the lively Law Garden Night Market.

DAYS 13–14
AHMEDABAD

Spend two days discovering Ahmedabad’s historic neighborhoods, mosques, stepwells, and vibrant markets. Excursions also include the UNESCO-listed Rani ki Vav, Patan, and the magnificent Sun Temple at Modhera, followed by a farewell dinner.

AHMEDABAD / DEPART

Transfer to the airport for your independently arranged flight home.

Drive to Velavadar National Park, known for its thriving blackbuck population and open grassland ecosystems. This afternoon, enjoy your first wildlife safari in search of blackbuck, gazelle, and nilgai.

DAY 16
VELAVADAR NATIONAL PARK

Morning and afternoon game drives explore one of India’s finest grassland reserves. Look for blackbuck, Indian wolf, striped hyena, foxes, and an impressive variety of birdlife.

DAY 17
VELAVADAR NATIONAL PARK / GIR NATIONAL PARK

Travel south to Gir National Park, the last remaining home of the Asiatic lion. This afternoon, embark on your first safari in search of this rare and iconic species.

DAY 18
GIR NATIONAL PARK

Explore Gir on morning and afternoon safaris, searching for lions, leopards, hyena, antelope, and other wildlife. The park also offers excellent opportunities to observe crocodiles and diverse birdlife.

DAY 19
GIR NATIONAL PARK / RAJKOT / MUMBAI / HOMEWARD

Drive to Rajkot for your flight to Mumbai and onward international connections. Guests may also choose an optional overnight stay in Mumbai before departing the following day.
