NATURALIST

An award-winning filmmaker, wildlife photographer, scuba instructor, birder, and all-around naturalist, Sam's passion for the living world knows no bounds. His journey began in Seattle, where he explored tide pools with his father and ventured across the Pacific Northwest in search of birds, butterflies, and reptiles. at just fifteen years old he embarked on international bird banding and herpetological biodiversity surveys in South America, where he discovered a previously un-described species of snail-eating snake and ignited a lifelong love for world travel.

Sam earned his Bachelor of Science in Ecosystem Science and Policy from the University of Miami and has since worked as a scuba instructor along the east coast of Australia, conducted primate and sea turtle research in West Africa, guided extensively across all seven continents and in the polar regions, and directed and produced two award-winning films aimed at connecting people with the natural world. He has a vast knowledge of topics ranging from birds to marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and a deep passion for helping others experience the joys of nature.
