Three moments you’ll never forget
On the tiny islet of Ilhéu das Rolas, feel the extraordinary sensation of standing at the Equator’s center, where a monument to Admiral Gago Coutinho marks the spot. Surrounded by lush tropical forests and crystal-clear waters, it’s a moment of connection to the world like no other.
Journey into Angola’s Kissama National Park, where towering baobab trees and a kaleidoscope of wildlife await. Spot elephants grazing beneath the African sun, watch zebras galloping across golden plains, and witness the elegance of giraffes against a backdrop of breathtaking savannah.
Stand in awe before Kalandula Falls, one of Africa’s largest waterfalls by volume, where the thundering cascade tumbles over dramatic cliffs into a mist-filled gorge below. The sheer power and beauty of the falls leave a lasting impression, surrounded by lush greenery and the hum of nature’s energy.
DAY 1
Arrive / São Tomé
Arrive in São Tomé and transfer to the hotel. Meet your expedition leader for a briefing, then enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to relax.
DAY 2
São Tomé
Explore São Tomé’s coffee and cocoa heritage, visiting Monte Café Plantation, São Nicolau Waterfall, and local plantations. After lunch, relax at Lagoa Azul Beach, then visit the cocoa export cooperative and historic sites before returning to the hotel.
DAY 3
São Tomé / Príncipe
Fly to Príncipe, known for its pristine forests and laid-back atmosphere. Check in to Bom Bom Lodge and enjoy the rest of the day relaxing on the beach or exploring the lodge.
DAY 4
Boné de Jockey & Pedras Tinhosas Islands
Visit Banana Beach for snorkeling and panoramic views at the Belo Monte Viewpoint. Optional activities include trekking to scenic viewpoints and birdwatching, followed by a relaxing evening at the hotel.
DAY 5
Príncipe
Trek to Cascata Oque Pipi, a stunning waterfall in Ôbo National Park. After exploring the park’s biodiversity, we’ll visit the island’s capital, Santo António, for lunch and then return to the hotel.
DAY 6
Príncipe / São Tomé
Fly back to São Tomé, where we’ll visit the National Museum, Diogo Vaz's chocolate boutique, and the Cathedral of Nossa Senhora de Graça. Explore Independence Square, the local market, and end the day in the fishing village of Pantufo before dinner and nightlife.
DAY 7
São Tomé
Embark on a mangrove tour along the Malanza River and visit Pico Cão Grande. Enjoy canoeing through tropical mangroves, relax at Praia Cabana and Praia Piscina, and end the day with local cuisine at Praia Inhame Eco Lodge.
DAY 8
São Tomé
Take a scenic boat ride to Ilhéu das Rolas, standing at the center of the world, and visit the Equator monument. Enjoy a traditional lunch at Praia Café, relax on the beach, and return to São Tomé for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 9
São Tomé / Luanda, Angola
Fly to Luanda, the capital of Angola, and check in to the Skyna Hotel for the evening.
DAY 10
Luanda
Explore Luanda’s landmarks, including São Miguel Fort, the Iron Palace, and the Agostinho Neto Mausoleum. Visit the Anthropological Museum and browse local markets for souvenirs.
DAY 11
Luanda / Lubango
Fly to Lubango and visit Tundavala Gorge for breathtaking views. Explore Lubango’s colonial architecture, including the Cathedral and Regional Museum, before returning to the hotel.
DAY 12
Lubango / Mocamedes
Drive to Moçâmedes, stopping at Mucubal and Mumuhuila tribes. Navigate the Serra da Leba Road and enjoy a seafood dinner by the ocean upon arrival.
DAY 13
Mocamedes / Lubango
Explore the Namib Desert, visiting Arco oasis and the Red Canyon. Learn about the desert’s unique plants and nomadic tribes before returning to Lubango.
DAY 14
Lubango / Luanda
Visit the Mucuma Market and Quihita, meeting local tribes and exploring rural Angola. In the afternoon, return to Lubango for a flight back to Luanda.
DAY 15
Luanda / Dondo / Kalandula
Travel to Dondo and explore the historic town, including the Kwanza River, Pedras Negras, and the “rock footprint” of Rainha Ginga. Continue to Kalandula for dinner and overnight.
DAY 16
Kalandula / Barra do Cuanza
Visit Kalandula Falls, one of Africa’s largest waterfalls, and explore N’dalatando’s Botanical Gardens. After lunch, head to Barra do Cuanza for a peaceful stay at the Kwanza Lodge.
DAY 17
Barra do Cuanza / Luanda
Take a Kwanza River cruise and visit Miradouro da Lua and Kissama National Park, where we’ll enjoy a game drive and spot wildlife like elephants and giraffes. Return to Luanda for a farewell dinner.
DAY 18
Luanda / Depart
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading to the airport for your flight home.
