The vast Caucasus Mountain range forms a natural border between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, making the countries of Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan an important crossroads of European and Eastern cultures. We’ll delve deep into the history of these fascinating countries to discover breathtaking mountainous landscapes, tour some of the world’s oldest churches, stroll through ancient city centers, and sample delicious local cuisine paired with a variety of fine wines.

Three moments you’ll never forget

Day 1

Yerevan, Armenia

Arrive in Yerevan and transfer to your deluxe room at The Alexander Hotel for overnight.

Day 2 & 3

Yerevan

Spend two full days exploring this incredible capital and its surrounding countryside. Visit its renowned museums and walk its historic center before leaving the city to visit Mt. Ararat and a 4th century monastery.

Day 4

Yerevan / Lake Sevan / Tbilisi, Georgia

En route to Georgia, make a stop at stunning Lake Sevan, one of Eurasia’s largest freshwater, high-altitude lakes. Arrive in Tbilisi, and check into the Biltmore Hotel Tbilisi. This evening, enjoy a Georgian folk show and dinner.

Day 5

Tbilisi

Spend the day exploring the spider’s web of winding streets and narrow back lanes of Georgia’s capital city, once an important stop on the Silk Road. Ascend by cable car to Narikala Fortress for a bird’s-eye view of the city and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. 

Day 6

Tbilisi / Mtskheta / Kazbegi

Begin the day in Mtskheta, an UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient monuments. Then drive into the Caucasus Mountains along one of the country’s oldest roads. Then overnight in your mountain view room at Hotel Kazbegi.

Day 7

Kazbegi

After breakfast, board 4x4 vehicles to visit a 14th-century church on an isolated scenic hilltop. Then join a local family for lunch, where you’ll learn the art of making khinkali (dumplings) and sample local beers.

Day 8

Kazbegi / Tbilisi

Visit the Ananuri Architectural complex, perched along the turquoise waters of the Aragvi River. Then spend the afternoon at the historic Chateau Mukhrani. After a tour, sit down for lunch and Georgian wines produced on site.

Day 9

Tbilisi / Tsinandali

Today, set out to discover some of the splendid churches and sites set in the lush vineyards of Kakheti, including the 9th-century Bodbe Nunnery. This evening, check in to your view room at the Radisson Collection Hotel Tsinandali Estate Georgia.

Day 10

Tsinandali

Today we explore the 16th century, the ruins of Gremi city an important late medieval archaeological site. We discover ruins of churches, trading arcades, baths and dwellings and visit the Nekresi Monastery, magnificently perched overlooking the Alazani Valley.

Day 11

Tsinandali / Baku, Azerbaijan

This morning, we drive to Tbilisi and board a short flight to Baku. After a short rest we depart for the Absheron Peninsula visit the UNESCO World Heritage site Ateşgah–the Fire Temple as well as Yanar Dagh, a unique geological site where a natural gas fire blazes continuously.

Day 12 & 13

Baku

Spend two days exploring historic Baku as a group and independently. Visit Yanardag, also known as Burning Mountain due to the 30-foot flames that emanate from vents in the sandstone. Then enjoy a farewell dinner on our last night together.

Day 14

Depart Baku

Transfer to the airport this morning for your independent flight, arriving home the same day.

The trip starts in Yerevan, Armenia and ends in Baku, Azerbaijan
