DAY 1

Tokyo, Japan

Upon arrival, transfer to the Shiba Park Hotel, located in downtown Tokyo. After a chance to freshen up, meet with your leader and fellow travelers for a festive welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 2

Tokyo

Begin at Toyosu Shijou, Tokyo's new wholesale market, now home to famous sushi restaurants and shops. Explore Tsukiji's Outer Market for Japanese food and high-end goods, then visit TeamLab Planets for interactive digital exhibits. The rest of the day is yours to explore Tokyo at your leisure.

DAY 3

Tokyo

Explore Hama-Rikyu Gardens near Tokyo's Sumida-gawa River, offering a serene contrast to the modern Shiodome towers. Visit Nihonbashi, known as the "Japan Bridge," then head to Ginza for shopping and dining.

DAY 4

Tokyo / Nagoya / Takayama

Take a bullet train to Nagoya, then transfer to the Limited Express Train to Takayama, famous for its craftsmanship in yew-wood carving, Shunkei lacquerware, pottery, and furniture. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the San-machi district and free time to explore the old town. Stay at Hotel Wood, blending modern comforts with rustic charm in the heart of the old town.

Takayama / Hida-Furukawa

This morning, journey to Hida-Furukawa, a charming town steeped in traditional Japanese charm and known for its sake production. Takayama / Ogimachi / Kanazawa

After breakfast, journey to Ogimachi village in the Shirakawa-go region, known for its UNESCO-listed gassho-zukuri houses. Explore the village, including the Wada House and Nagase House interiors, before heading to Kanazawa and checking in at the Kanazawa Tokyu Hotel.

Kanazawa

Once a stronghold of the influential Maeda clan, Kanazawa rivaled Kyoto and Edo in feudal Japan. Explore the samurai district's historic lanes, visit Kenrokuen Garden's scenic beauty, and enjoy traditional Kaga cuisine in the 'chayagai' district, accompanied by Kanazawa's geisha entertainment.

DAY 8

Kanazawa / Kaga Onsen

Board a train to the Kaga Onsen area, a cluster of hot spring towns. Explore the scenic Yamanaka Onsen, with its picturesque gorge, waterfalls, and serene pools. Kaga Onsen / Kyoto

Kyoto, Japan's cultural stronghold with 17 UNESCO sites, is a treasure trove of temples, shrines, and traditional culture. We explore Kodai-ji's walking garden before checking into Miru Kyoto Gion, nestled in the heart of Kyoto's geisha district.

Kyoto

Pedal through Miyagawa-cho on a guided cycling tour, stopping at local spots and Hanami-koji for a glimpse of a maiko. Explore Kyoto's scenic highlights, including Arashiyama's bamboo grove and the serene garden of Tenryu-ji.

DAY 11

Kyoto

Today, experience a traditional tea ceremony followed by a stroll through Nishiki Market, often referred to as "Kyoto's Kitchen." In the evening, savor a memorable dinner at a local restaurant in the company of a maiko, an apprentice geisha. Enjoy an exquisite multicourse meal known as kaiseki ryori and gain insights into Kyoto's maiko and the geisha world.

Kyoto / Depart

Transfer to the airport for your independent flight homeward. A return train to Tokyo can be arranged upon request for those departing from Tokyo.
